Student Named Layout Editor of Regional Literary Journal

John Faugno ’13, an English major, has been selected as the layout editor of “Mind Murals,” the literary and arts journal produced by the eastern region of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society. The journal will be released in April.

It certainly won’t be his first foray into publishing. He served as the assistant editor of the first issue of “The New Sound,” a literary journal that debuted last spring. His short story, “Ohio,” was published in the last issue of “Mind Murals.”

“My exposure to journal writing has been invaluable,” he said.

Faugno has also written a manuscript for a novel and is seeking an agent to publish the book, a fantasy novel set in a pseudo-Italian Renaissance-like city state. He describes the book as a conflict of money vs. power and nobility vs. aristocracy.

He is researching opportunities to pursue a master’s degree in fine arts with a focus in creative writing after graduation.

Prior to attending UNH, Faugno was a writer and editor for Living Imagination, a former Hamden, Conn.-based company that produced role-playing video games.
