Current Issues Discussion on Syria

The first Current Issues discussion of the academic year will explore the current situation in Syria on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 4:30 p.m. in the Moulton Lounge in Bartels Hall.  The discussion, “Crisis in Syria: Foreign Policy Blunder or Brilliant Breakthrough,” will be facilitated by professors Matthew Schmidt and Howard Stoffer.

They will explore the military situation within Syria and a possible military strike by the United States and discuss the possible resolutions that might be taken by the United Nations’ security council. The talk will also explore the evidence of chemical attacks in Syria and their resulting effects on the region, the U.S. and the world.
