New Toy Drive Benefits Sick Children

New Toy Drive Benefits Sick Children

The American Criminal Justice Association (ACJA), Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Chi Kappa Rho Sorority will host a new toy drive on Monday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the West Haven Walmart at 515 Saw Mill Road. Toys or monetary donations can also be dropped off in Bartels Hall.

UNH and the West Haven Police Department will each provide a police cruiser that people can stuff with new, unwrapped toys. The toys will be donated to Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital Toy Closet Program, which provides children admitted to the hospital with a gift intended to take their minds off their illness, sickness or treatment.

This is the fourth year that Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity has coordinated the fund drive.

“This drive has been extremely successful in the past, and we are hoping that this year people will continue to be especially generous,” said Ryan Irons, president of ACJA.  “We are grateful to the two police departments for their help.”
