Alum to Speak to Prospective Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneur David Struwas ’70, ’79 MBA will speak to future business leaders on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 12:15 p.m. in the Schumann Auditorium in the Tagliatela College of Engineering (Room B120). The talk is part of the Alvine Engineering Professional Effectiveness and Enrichment Program.

Struwas will discuss the rewards and obstacles entrepreneurs face and examine the basic knowledge necessary to pursue a career as an entrepreneur. Topics include methods for raising capital and the steps necessary to begin preparation of a business plan.

In 1999, following a successful career as an engineer, Struwas, a Florida resident, founded the public technology company DSL.net, where he serves as president, chief executive officer and director. In addition, he consults for a number of small telecommunication companies.
