Panel to Explore Ukraine-Russia Crisis

A Current Issues Discussion on Wednesday, April 2, will explore the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Moulton Lounge in Bartels Hall.

The panel discussion will be led by Matthew Schmidt, an expert in planning complex military operations, was named to Fast Company magazine’s 2012 list of the 100 Most Creative Minds in Business; Howard Stoffer, a former senior foreign service officer in the U.S. Department of State and former director of counterterrorism at the United Nations; and Brad Woodworth, coordinator of Baltic studies at Yale.

The speakers will explain why Russia made a move into the Crimean peninsula, examine how the unfolding events will affect the rest of Europe and the United States, and discuss if a new Cold War is likely to happen.
