Chargers Write 800 Thank-You Notes as Part of Student Engagement and Philanthropy Month

Students wrote more than 800 thank-you notes as part of the University’s participation in the fourth worldwide Student Engagement and Philanthropy month.

“The goal of the campaign was to raise awareness about the impact of philanthropy in our community,” said Marya Neary, director of annual giving. “The program also provided students with the opportunity to demonstrate their gratitude for the individuals who have helped shape their educational experiences and given them ‘a world of opportunities.’”

Throughout the month, hundreds of blue and gold bows marked areas on campus that were made possible through donor support. To show their appreciation, students were encouraged to take a photo next to their favorite bow on campus and to share it on social media.

In addition to writing the thank-you notes that will be sent to University donors, students also signed a “Once a Charger, Always a Charger” banner, sharing what they are most grateful for.
