Former President’s Council on Environmental Quality Member to Discuss Water Quality in Urban Areas

Richard Burroughs, professor of marine affairs at the University of Rhode Island and adjunct professor of coastal science and policy at Yale, will present a talk on Tuesday, March 8, titled “Urban Waters: How Clean is Clean Enough.” The talk, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Kaplan 109, is part of the Henry Voegeli Seminar Series.  Refreshments will be served.

Burroughs previously worked for the President’s Council on Environmental Quality, the National Academy of Sciences and the U.S. Department of the Interior, where he served as science adviser to the director of Bureau Land Management during the Carter administration.

His research focuses on rethinking water and green infrastructure in the context of urban living.
