UNH to Mark Anniversary of Armenian Genocide

The University will hold an event on Wednesday, April 6, to mark the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The program, which is sponsored by UNH’s Armenian Genocide Commemoration Committee, the History Department, and the Amnesty International Club, will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Bucknall Theater in Dodds Hall.

On April 24, 1915, the Ottoman Turkish government ordered the execution of 250 leading Armenian intellectuals, poets, teachers and artists. From 1915 to 1918, more than 1.5 million Armenians were killed, making this the first genocide of modern times.
