Sigma Chi’s “Derby Days” Raises Nearly $30,000

The Sigma Chi fraternity hosted a weeklong philanthropic event called Derby Days that raised more than $28,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The UNH effort raised the fourth highest amount of more than 220 Sigma Chi chapters nationwide.

“I have never been so proud of this organization,” said fraternity president Mark Sylvester ’16.  “All the brothers have worked so hard to make this happen, and they deserve all the credit. “Through dedicated philanthropic work like Derby Days, we truly believe that we will be the generation to end cancer.”

The finale event, Sig Fest was a campus-wide country concert that featured performances by country artists Joel Crouse and Carter Winter.

Sigma Chi international has pledged to raise $10 million for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
